Only 12 years after Stonewall, the modern day LGBT movement was dealt a hard and brutal blow by the AIDS pandemic. So much of the energy, leadership and vision was stolen from us just as we were finding our voices.
Now, 29 years into the pandemic, many of us with HIV and AIDS are living longer, healthier and more involved lives than we anticipated we ever would again.
So now is the time for poz and poz-friendly and poz-supportive people to pick back up the torch that had fallen, and in honor and, in memory of so many brave brothers and sisters that were taken from us, continue the march to freedom and justice.
Some of us fight for proper healthcare. Some of us fight for adequate housing. Some of us fight to live out whatever years we have left with the one's we love and doing the things we love.
So while some of us are still fighting, literally, for our lives; some of us are fighting for our quality of life in housing, the workplace, healthcare, marriage and even the military. Either way, we stand united as a solid network and with one voice for equality and justice for all of peoples.
This is great Kelly!!
